Hey everybody. This is just going to be a fun "GIRL" post. Raleigh was here on Thursday all day and then both girls were here Sunday afternoon while their Mom and Dad went birthday shopping for the girls. So we just had some good old fun, going to the Farmer's Market in Raleigh, snapping the fresh green beans we bought at the Farmer's Market, dinner, toasting marshmallows, playing in the sandbox. So hope you enjoy my GIRL pictures.
On Thursday, Raleigh asked to see the bird in the cuckoo clock. I can't lift her up anymore so I told her she would just have to wait on the bird to pop his little head out. She had two minutes to wait, but that seemed like an eternity to her.................
How much longer Mina? I'm tired of waiting. Notice the doll isn't so prominent anymore!
Oh, it's been too long, my neck is hurting. How much longer?
Finally, there it is. Look how happy a simple little cuckoo bird can make a child. Funny how we forget the small things in our daily lives. I try to see those things through Raleigh and Reagan.
Fresh green beans from the Farmer's Market........YUM!
Reagan was initially excited about snapping the green beans since she had never done anything like that before. I told her stories about my grandma's garden and how we would go out and pick the green beans and then clean them up and snap them for her to cook for us. She thought that was most interesting since she's never really been to a farm before. She loved the idea that I had a grandma that had a farm with all that good food on it. After awhile though, Reagan got very tired of snapping beans when she saw how few she had done and how many more had to be done. Poppy and I were both helping, but the bowl was pretty full. We got them done, cooked them up and they were so good.
Poppy and Raleigh taking a break in the sand box.
Toasting some marshmallows after dinner. Raleigh wasn't too sure she liked this idea. Reagan, however, loved it and ate three marshmallows!
Still room in the upcoming snowman head ornament class. Come join me!! Check the calendar on the web site for dates and times..........
Enjoy the rainy days..................

Don't these look fun. Little tomato pincushions. My friend Debbie made me one of these and the little needlekeep and I just can't stop making them. They are so much fun. We've had a bunch of classes this week and I realize that if you blog, you should blog on a more regular basis so you don't have so much to put in one post. But when you're super busy and can't do that, I guess you just have to bear having a lot of pictures at one time. Sorry.
Tricia and Laura working diligently on their projects.
Tricia is loving her little tomatoes. They're finally starting to look like tomatoes!
Another class where the ladies were making fabric covered journals with a sweet little strawberry applique, in honor of our wonderful strawberry season that is unfortunately coming to an end.
Betsy and Carolyn are really concentrating. Betsy is leaving for her home in New York next week and we'll all miss her........but she'll be back!!!! Safe travels Betsy.
It's looking great Dolly. Poor Dolly had been up since 4am and still came to class. I would have been asleep at that point! Thanks for hanging in there Dolly.
Carolyn proudly displays her completed journal. Looks beautiful. Write lots of wonderful thoughts in it!!
Time for class #2 of the beginning quilt class. Pam and Laura got together and made pincushions to match their quilts. This is Pam's pincushion and fabrics. So happy!
The gals hard at work, well some of them.......
Debbie (the teacher) helping Debby (the student) pin on her borders. This was the most exciting part becuase we all knew there was an end in sight!!
Ta-da! This is my quilt sampler (with only two borders attached). It is so cheerful and happy. You will all have to see it in person when it's done. It makes me smile!!\
Have a great Sunday!

Rain, rain, don't go away. YAY! We are finally getting some much needed rain and I am loving it! My flowers are singing in the rain they are so happy.
I had a couple of classes yesterday on a gloomy, rainy Monday. Forgot to get the camera out for the first class and almost forgot it during the second class, but did manage to snap a couple pictures of the gals.
Heather is busy laying out her pennies for the tomato penny mat. I love all the reds she chose!
Linda was with me in the first class. I love that she chose to spend her day with me!! Linda is leaving for Florida later in the week and this project will be perfect to work on during her long car ride.
Heather is so cute and love that dimple girl!! This was a just for fun picture because I forgot to take pictures.
A picture I took at Jennifer's house.......
A teeny tiny peek at some of the fabric that was on Jennifer's overflowing shelves......red, my favorite color, of course!
Have a great rainy Tuesday.........go splash in some puddles!

What a week I've had. Lots of classes, class preparation, working on new models for July/August classes and watching the girls. Just a super busy week with no posts and lots going on. And I kept forgetting to take the camera to classes so I apologize to the fun classes where there are no pictures to show how much fun we were having!!
Several of the ladies working on recipe cards at my house. This group has been meeting for several years and always come to my house.
Went to a little consignment shop one day and found all these fun jars. One can never have too many pretty jars to fill with fun things!
Working on a new project for a July (and more) class. It's called Wool Crazy and it just about makes you crazy (but in a good way!). Lots of fun, unlimited creativity, and a long way to go before I'm finished!
Finished my quilt squares for my class homework. I'm using Christmas fabrics and can't wait to see it all together. There are 25 blocks in total that we will be assembling next Saturday. Stay tuned!
Several ladies got together Saturday morning to work on Debbie Busby's Strawberries and Cream pattern. It is strawberry season and this piece will make a great addition to everyone's decor when done! Carolyn is really concentrating on her needle.
Betty wanted to be in the witness protection program but I think NOT!!
Kim looks so festive in her polka dotted shirt. Matches the project she's working on!! Glad you came to class Kim. Hope I'll see you at more!!
Laura and Pam attend a lot of classes together. They're such good friends and have so much fun together.
After class was over, several of us headed to our friend Jennifer's house to help her celebrate her 40th birthday. It was supposed to be a surprise party but unfortunately we didn't get there in time to yell surprise when she walked in the door. She pulled in her driveway just as we were coming down the street. So here she comes out of the house yelling " You GUYS!" and we're all yelling surprise, here we are!
Jennifer's best friend Janet helped set things up along with Jennifer's sweet husband, Bernie. They put out quite a spread for everyone to enjoy.
Like mother, like daughter.............Jennifer and Alice
Ooooh, presents!
We ended up in Jennifer's workroom, which most of us had never had the opportunity to visit. It was a bit overwhelming with all she had in there. Fabric galore, all nicely organized on shelves by color, projects, quilts, books, just mind boggling and a dream to be in. This was one of the projects that Jennifer was working on that I fell in love with. A little grandmother's flower garden quilt. I told her the colors were perfect for my dining room!! hint hint I loved the way she had all her tiny little peices organized.
Laura finally couldn't resist any longer and had to play with the fabrics. It was EYE CANDY!!
I gave Jennifer one more gift.........the banner that my husband got me when I turned 50. I told her 50 was just around the corner from 40 and I was passing the gauntlet!
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY SWEET JENNIFER
Thanks for letting us be part of your celebration!
