What a way to spend a Saturday.....teaching classes and celebrating a good friend's birthday. A few ladies got together to make tomato pincushions and a sweet needle keep designed by my famous friend Debbie Busby. We worked hard all morning, stitching and chatting.

And it looks like Rudolph even made an appearance!!  I told you to be careful how you posed Linda!!  You're so adorable..............
Finally, stacks of tomatoes began appearing on the table.......
Linda brought this scrumptuous strawberry cake to celebrate Laura's birthday......it was so delicious.....we'll have to get the recipe to share with everyone.  We had a yummy lunch of quiche and broccoli slaw, lit candles on the cake, sang, all out of tune of course, and celebrated Laura's adding another year to her life.
Laura was having fun opening gifts....oh what could it be?  Fabric, that's always a good thing.
Oh my goodness, I am in heaven....a sunflower candle.  In case you haven't guessed by now, Laura loves sunflowers!!
Love the fresh flowers, especially the sunflowers.  Just for the birthday girl.
I found this giant handcrafted wooden sunflower at Cameron Days in May.  It's been hiding around my house just waiting for Laura's birthday to get here.  I thought maybe, since she's getting older, she could use it as a walking cane.  Just kidding Laura!

Whether it's your birthday or not, I wish you all happy days...................

We finished our quilt class on Sunday afternoon and I finished stitching down the binding last night.  Whoo-hoo, it's done.  I just love the fabrics and the layout of the quilt.  I'm calling it my "Happy Christmas" quilt.

Now, onto WOOL CRAZY!!  Can you believe that less than a month ago I started with this and now.............
I have this!!!!  I think I am DONE!!!  I just need to add a backing and it's officially complete.  I have to tell you I have really enjoyed this wool journey.  Can't wait for the classes to start so you all can begin your journeys................

Isn't this little birdie sweet!
Happy stitching days girls.
HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY SWEET LITTLE RALEIGH!!  We love you bunches!!

WOOL CRAZY

I mailed the class schedules out today so be on the lookout if you haven't already received one. Everyone is excited about the new WOOL CRAZY class and I wanted to post a couple of pictures of the block that I've been working on off and on since Mother's Day. I think I'm close to being finished but want to add a little more embroidery embellishment. The fun thing about these blocks is you can always think of things to add. At some point you just have to be finished! There are limited spaces left to be sure to contact me right away if you want to join in the fun.

Well, I guess it's good that I can still remember that!! In any event, happy birthday little Reagan. I hope it's a super special day full of lots of surprises!

This week has been super busy with classes, working on the new July/August class schedule, my girls, stitching on my wool crazy block among other things and heaven only knows what else.

I am ready to start offering the wool girls as a block of the month starting in September.  For those of you on my mailing list, more detailed information can be found there.  If you'd like to be added to the mailing list, drop me an email with your information.

Here are pictures of September through December blocks.  We will start with Becky in September.  Let me know if you're interested in signing up for the kits which will be prepared by Lisa at Lone Star Mercantile.   She will have the models in her shop at the Fairgrounds this weekend if you want to see them in person.

And for those of you that have been waiting on the person to pick up the bunny from the spring giveaway, she came in for a class this week and was absolutely surprised and thrilled that she had won the rabbit.  She was just shocked that she had won and didn't see that I had posted it on the blog.  I told her all of you wanted me to do the drawing over but I said no way!!  Now don't you feel ashamed of yourselves??!!  Just look how happy she is!!!

Ms. Connie and her Velveteen Bunny
I had Raleigh on Thursday and I wanted to take a picture of her.  Well, she wouldn't smile for me and started making silly faces.  So I started taking silly face pictures.  If these don't make you laugh.......
More empty jars.  I just love the way they look without anything in them.  But I'm sure one day they'll hold buttons or some other treasures.
Tomorrow is phase 3 of our quilting class......the machine quilting.  Not sure how this will work but I'm willing to learn.  I'm sure that's a blog story just waiting to happen.  Stay tuned....
Have a super great weekend!
